Bicycling on the Blue Ridge Parkway is a popular activity that provides 469 miles of picturesque vistas through Virginia and North Carolina. Ranging in elevation from 600 to 6,000 feet, the road encompasses a variety of ever-changing weather conditions, regardless of the season.

Boone Greenway Trail
6 miles 3 miles each way. easy paved and dirt trails. This is an easy trail in Boone.
18 Mile Creek Road
16 Miles of moderate dirt road. Total elevation gain is 600 feet. Lots of hairpin turns and rough terrain will allow your to pick speed before straining up the next grade. Forest Service Road
Howard's Creek Road Loop
3.3 Miles easy dirt road. Total elevation gain 600 feet, drive up Howard's Creek Road (off Highway 194 North of Boone) until it turns to dirt. Curly Maple Road is on your left. Start on Howard's Creek Road and loop back around to the end of Curly Maple. Beautiful farmland and forest.
Junaluska Road Ride
14 Mile Loop, moderate dirt road. Ride begins near the top of Howard's Knob, at Junaluska road turn off to the left and swings along Junaluska and connects with curly Maple Road to SR 1323 then back to Junaluska. Significant elevation changes. Total elevation gain 1200 feet.
Linville Gorge Loop
49 Miles extremely strenuous, dirt roads, paved roads,Total elevation gain 4,050 feet. The longest toughest ride in the area. Basically for pro's not for the beginner or faint of heart.
Lower Wilson Ridge Trail
3.9 Miles easy dirt road and single track trail. and old logging road. Total elevation gain is 600 feet. Trail not clearly marked.
Lower China Creek Loop
3.9 Miles easy dirt road. Located off Globe Road in Blowing Rock. China creek Trail follows the beautiful Thunder Hole Creek through he woods, gaining a total of 250 in elevation. Go the other way and gain 1750 in elevation.
Rail Road Grade
10 Miles, easy paved road along the New River From Fleetwood to Todd. Ends at the Todd General Store. Enjoy a relaxing ride along the famous New River, this is a public road so watch out for cars.
Watauga Rive Road Ride
8 Miles 4 each way easy dirt road. Total elevation gain is 150 feet. Begins of Highway 194 1/4 mile past the Mast General Store the beginning of Watauga River Road to left. Park at the bridge and enjoy a beautiful leisurely bike ride along the scenic Watauga River
Wilson Creek Area
8.2 Miles, fairly trough out and back trail dirt road. Total elevation gain is 1200 feet. Not for beginners or the faint of heart.
Virginia Creeper Trail

This trail follows the of Virginia Creeper rail line from Abbington Va to Damascus Va to the Ashe County NC line. This is an easy ride over 26 miles of well maintained trail following the old tracks. Bike rentals available Trail Maps
